Review by Rock Over America

Lizzy Borden has been shocking audiences for more then a quarter of a century. Lizzy and his band of shock rockers have produced some good music for their faithful followers over the years. The CDs are nothing compared to seeing the band on stage. Tonight we will get the first glimpse of Lizzy Borden live at Vamp’d in Las Vegas. It’s been way too long for this band to come back to town.

Lizzy commanded the stage from the first notes of “TOMORROW NEVER COMES”, which included two women dressed as angels, one fallen, one not. “RED RUM” had the crowd going as the band rocked its fans. “VOYEUR” was another song where you can’t take your eyes off of Borden. A solo or an extended solo by guitarist Dario Lorina preceded “LIVE FOREVER”.

“VISUAL LIES” kept the shock Metal flowing for the fans lucky enough to make it to the show. A medley that included “EYES OF A STRANGER” and “PHANTOMS” lead into a killer bass solo by Marten Andersson. “UNDER YOUR SKIN” and “COME OUT AT NIGHT” kept all the Metalheads happy! “THERE WILL BE BLOOD TONIGHT” got all the fans in front of the stage bloodied.

Guitarists A. C. Alexander and Lorina got a chance to shred and show how good this version of Lizzy Borden really is. The band regrouped and roared through a red hot “ME AGAINST THE WORLD”. Fan favorites, “AMERICAN METAL” and “ROD OF IRON”, kept everybody happy. “MASTER OF DISGUISE” led into “WE GOT THE POWER” as the set was winding down. This shock filled set ended with “MASTER OF DISGUISE (reprise)” to the disappointment of these fans who wished the night would never end.

Drummer Joey Scott returned to the stage to have some time in the spotlight to show off his prowess. A.C., Dario, Lizzy, Marten, and the girls returned to the stage for an insane medley, including Drummer Joey Scott’s wife Steffi Scott who is an intregal part of the show. This medley contained ten songs from the bands catalogue. “PERFECT WORLD”, “SHOCK TREATMENT”, “DEN OF THIEVES”, “ROLL OVER AND PLAY DEAD”, “HELL IS FOR HEROES”, “CRAWLING”, “NOTORIOUS”, “PSYCHOPATH” “ULTRA VIOLENCE” and “WE’RE THE ONLY ONES”. It was a very entertaining night and hopefully it won’t take them long to return to Vegas.

We would like to extend a very special “Thank You” to Danny and Korie at Count’s Vamp’d for always taking such amazing care of us.
